Using the KRC

Opening Times:
​           Monday – Thursday 8.00am – 5.00pm. 
           Friday 8.00am - 4.00pm 
​           Exceptions are advertised in the daily messages

​ Student Behaviour Guidelines:
  • During lessons times, students wishing to come to the library without an accompanying teacher will require a signed permission slip.
  • No food, drinks or bags are allowed in the KRC.
  • Students must be considerate of other users at all times.
  • Senior School students timetabled for private study sessions must sign in and out at the circulation desk. External VET students must also sign in and out at the desk.
  • All classes must line up outside the KRC entrance and wait for their teacher before entering the KRC.
  • Students must obey the directions of the KRC staff at all times.

Borrowing:
  • Students may borrow a total of six items for a two week loan period.
  • The loan period on most items can be renewed three times.
  • All library materials must be checked out at the circulation desk.
  • When returning books, place them in the returns box at the circulation desk.
  • Students are held responsible for all library resources borrowed in their name. Lost or damaged resources must be paid for.
  • Students should receive an overdue notice three times before billing occurs.
  • Charges are reversed if item/s are returned within one month of billing and are in the same condition as they were borrowed. 
  • Come and see us if you have misplaced or damaged an item.
 
Printing:
  • Computer printouts and photocopying are charged to your Print Credit account. Print credit is updated each term. Additional credit can be purchased from the KRC circulation desk.

Computers. iPads and phones:
  • At recess and lunch, students need to go to the circulation desk to be directed to the appropriate library space to suit their needs.
  • Before and after school, during lunch and recess and at other approved times throughout the year, students may use desktop computers.
  • iPads and phones may be used for recreational purposes before and after school - only school approved games.
  • During school hours, iPads and computers are to be used for school work only - phones not to be used at all.
  • Students must abide by the Responsible ICT Usage procedure (see link) to which they subscribe as members of the St Patrick’s College community. 
  • Students are to report any computer malfunction to the KRC staff.
 
eResources:
  • The KRC offers a range of resources electronically. You can borrow eBooks, Audiobooks and access a range of online databases.
